The Jewish Catacomb

Special openings.

The catacombs were discovered in 1859 in an area known as “Vigna Randanini” close to Appia Antica way .Around 150 A.D.the underground of the Villa was excavated, many burials sites carved into the volcanic stone.
Some sites have decorations such as flowers and animals, and also Jewish Menorah the seven-branch candelabrum.

Please Notice:
The Catacomb are uderground, only torches for the light, often in the tombs we can see the bones.
